Frequently Asked Questions

Bioflex is suitable for bonding porcelain tiles, ceramic tiles, terracotta, klinker, marble, natural stone and mosaics on both floors and walls in residential, commercial, street‑furniture and marine projects. It can be used internally and externally, including overlaying existing tiles, on terraces and balconies, saunas and spas, and in swimming pools and fountains when the substrate and design follow the manufacturer’s instructions.

Bioflex can be applied on existing tiles, waterproofing products, heated floors, cement‑based screeds, asphalt screeds, concrete, plasterboard, fibro‑cement slabs, gypsum and anhydrite, cellular concrete, smooth prefabricated concrete, brick, and lime‑ or cement‑based plasters/renders. It is also suitable for thermal insulation panelling systems, insulating panels, timber, metal and PVC, provided that critical or non‑absorbent substrates such as asphalt screeds, gypsum, smooth prefab concrete, timber, metal and PVC are first primed with Active Prime Fix or Active Prime Grip as specified.

At 23 °C, Bioflex has an open time of at least 60 minutes and a correction time of at least 20 minutes, giving installers ample time to position tiles correctly. Floors can typically take light foot traffic after about 2–3 days, heavy traffic after about 3–7 days, and swimming pools can be filled or put into service after approximately 14 days under standard conditions.

Yes, Bioflex is explicitly indicated for use in swimming pools, fountains, saunas, spas, bathrooms and other demanding wet or immersed environments when installed over suitable substrates and waterproofing systems. As with any pool or permanently wet application, it must be combined with compatible waterproofing, correct substrate preparation, full‑bed adhesion and appropriate curing times before filling the pool or exposing the area to continuous water.
